Sarah Graham
Sarah Graham is a principal partner of Angélil/Graham/Pfenninger/Scholl Architecture in Los Angeles and Zürich, Switzerland. Ms. Graham was granted a Masters of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, and a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University in Art History and Design. Sarah also attended the Federal Polytechnic of Switzerland.
Ms. Graham has had extensive teaching experience. She has been a design critic at various schools of architecture throughout the country and currently is on the faculty of the University of Southern California at Los Angeles as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
Ms. Graham began her professional career as an architect in Boston in 1982. There she joined Mark Angélil to form Angélil/Graham Architecture. In 1987, the firm moved to Los Angeles. In 1990, Sarah and her partner added a Zurich office and two additional partners to form Angélil/Graham/Pfenninger/Scholl.
Throughout her distinguished professional career, Ms. Graham has worked on many significant projects. She has completed work on the Experimental House in the Hollywood Hills and the Midfield Terminal for the Zurich International Airport. Current work includes the Portland Aerial Tram in Portland Oregon and a Ranch in Topanga, California.
Ms. Graham has been the recipient of several honors and awards, including Honor Awards presented by the American Institute of Architects, including a Next LA Award for the Children’s Museum of Los Angeles in 2002, an LA AIA Merit Award for the Waschanstalt in 2001 and Next LA Award for Herzo Base with adidas “World of Sports” 2000 in Germany. She has also been honored with a number of First Prize Awards from invited competitions for her work on projects including the Portland Aerial Tram in 2003, adidas-Salomon Inc. World Headquarters, Urban Design Competition in 1999, and the Zurich International Airport Midfield Terminal in 1998.
Ms. Graham is well known and respected by her peers. She has published her work in many journals, including Architectural Review, Global Architecture, and Houses and Architecture.
Ms. Graham and her firm join the Children’s Museum design team as the architect for the Hansen Dam campus.
